What is a Homestead Garden Room?
Homestead Garden Rooms are freestanding garden buildings, which have mobile home
technology with fully insulated cavity walls. This ensures that the inside of
the Garden Room stays cool in the hottest of summers and warm in the coldest of
winters.
Why build a Garden Room or Garden Building?
Homestead Garden Rooms have numerous benefits to your family.
They will add an extra 'room' option to your house, which would be much cheaper
and far quicker than building an extension.
Our Garden Rooms are an ideal garden playroom for the kids or a games room for
your teenagers. With a fully functional WC installed in your Garden Room, your
new garden building will create more peace and tranquillity in the home.
A Homestead Garden Room makes an ideal extra homeroom, or even an additional
garden dining room with a kitchenette.
Garden Rooms with year round appeal
Our fully insulated
Garden Rooms & Timber Garden Buildings can be installed with
fully functional shower facilities making our garden summerhouses the ideal
spare guest room for your summer & winter weekend visitors.
Homestead Garden Rooms & garden buildings have extra strong flooring which will
take the weight of all the gym equipment you need so you can train at home.
Homestead Garden Rooms are also ideal as a home office or garden art studio
where our opening roof skylights are particularly useful.
Building a Homestead Garden Room or Timber Building
Why a full concrete base and not pads?
Homestead Garden Rooms are built at our Oxfordshire Garden Building factory and
delivered in pre fabricated timber sections. These are assembled on a concrete
base foundation that we will have previously installed as part of our
Garden
Buildings Package.
Unlike a pad system, often recommended by other Timber Building companies, our
installed concrete base will prevent unwanted intrusion beneath your garden
summerhouse by vermin and create an unmovable foundation that will never sink or
flex that would lead to sticking windows and doors in the future.
The concrete base of your Garden Room is mixed on site with minimal disruption
in your garden and sits on top of the ground to prevent rainwater 'flooding'
beneath the heavy-duty insulated timber floor that we include. Also no intrusive
ground excavation will be necessary for the construction of your garden
summerhouse.
The timber clad sections of your Garden Room will have been pre- painted or
wood-stained to a colour of your choice prior to delivery and arrive with fitted
double glazed windows and doors ready for our cavity wall insulation system.
Why cavity wall insulation?
Insulation of the wall cavities and
internal wall and ceiling linings is essential for year round use and are
applied on site similar to 'mobile home' technology.
Do not accept a 'single thicknesses' of exterior cladding as satisfactory
insulation as offered by some companies. If this were able to keep you warm in
winter then houses would be built from one thickness of brick and not have
cavity wall insulation.
This is why 'log cabin' style buildings 'appear' to be cheaper, but will of
course be ineffective in the long term.
You can then programme our installed electric panel heater with thermostat and
timer to come on and off just like your central heating.
Our included
electrical package includes all the double sockets and lights that
you need in your garden summerhouse, the connection of your new garden building
to the house supply and issue a safety certificate compliant with building
regulations.
This is included in the price of our timber buildings and in our experience is
not offered by many other companies.
All our Garden Rooms & garden buildings are designed to last 30 years.
